THE MISSION:
The mission of First A.M.E. Church is to put God first in all things, lead with love in every action, and commit to discipleship that transforms lives, strengthens families, and builds communities for Christ.
We take seriously the command of Christ in the Great Commission:
“Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” (Matthew 28:19-20, NIV)

We are a Christ-centered, Spirit-led fellowship rooted in God’s Word, growing in love, and making disciples who shine the light of Christ in downtown Athens and beyond.

The Wednesday Afternoon Bible Study will continue on Zoom at Noon each Wednesday.
FAME continues to support the Athens Community through our Food Bank. The Food Bank is open each Thursday beginning at 10:00 a.m. and closes at 1:00 p.m. Your donations are welcome.

“Resurrection Sunday”
Our Belief
We believe in God the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth; and in Jesus Christ, His only Son, our Lord, who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, dead and buried. The third day He arose from the dead; He ascended into heaven and sitteth on the right hand of God, the Father Almighty; from thence He shall come to judge the quick and the dead. We believe in the Holy Spirit, the Church Universal, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sin, the resurrection of the body and the life everlasting. Amen!
